Music Scholarships

Class of 2029 Music Scholarship Auditions Dates will be in late Fall 2024. Please stay tuned for dates, times, and the registration link.

Additional Audition Information:

Holy Name offers jazz band, symphonic band, marching band, choir, and a chamber ensemble.
Please note that Holy Name will be auditioning string instruments.
Auditions are scheduled to be 20 minutes in length.
Please schedule one available slot per student. If your student plays more than one instrument, still only choose one audition time and email 
Mr. Raimondi prior to let him know. 
Students will be contacted within a week after their audition with feedback and information regarding scholarship eligibility. 

Instrumental auditions: 

1. Please prepare the following scales:
   1. C instruments: Bb, Eb, C, F
   2. F instruments: F, Bb, C 
   3. Eb instruments: G, C, D
   4. Bb instruments: C, F, G
   5. Bass Clef instruments: Bb, Eb, C, F
2. Choose a piece that best represents your musical abilities
3. A short sight-reading excerpt will be provided

Choral auditions:

1. Pitch-matching with the piano, ability to stay in the key of a simple tune with the starting pitch provided (Happy Birthday, Jingle Bells, etc.) 
2. Choose a piece that best represents your musical abilities 
3. You may use your own accompaniment recording if desired

Piano auditions:

1. Please prepare any two major scales 
2. Choose two pieces that best represent your musical abilities (preferably a "fast" and a "slow" piece) 
3. A short sight-reading excerpt will be provided
