It is crazy to think our students have been on summer break for just over five weeks! We love hearing what they have been up to while away from Holy Name. For example, Layla Kazmierczak ’24 recently participated in the University Hospitals Future Nurse Academy. Out of 400 applicants, Layla was one of just 26 students accepted into the two-week program!
During her experience, Layla saw surgeries take place, learned how to insert an IV, became CPR and STOP THE BLEED certified, and was introduced to phlebotomy. She loved visiting UH’s Main Campus and touring several nursing schools. Layla – who took Mrs. McCafferty’s Honors Anatomy and Physiology class this past year and loved it – wants to be either a NICU or pediatric nurse. The UH Future Nurse Academy solidified her career aspirations. We are proud of her for pursuing her passions and growing the knowledgebase she has from classes at Holy Name!
