On Saturday, April 9, HN's members of the diocesan-wide group Catholic Schools for Peace and Justice (CSPJ) collaborated with students from Beaumont, St. Ignatius, and Walsh to host "A Night to Shine"—a dance for people with mental and physical disabilities from Empower Sports. The theme of the dance, held at St. Ignatius High School, was "The Roaring 20's."
Each guest had two to three high school helpers who assisted them with playing games like Uno, Black Jack, Ping Pong, Pin the Tie, Knock Out the Containers, and several more. The Wizard of Oz also played throughout the evening. Among the highlights, though, was the opportunity for the high school students and guests to dance to the Hokey-Pokey, the Chicken Dance, the Macarena, the Electric Slide, and others.
The guests and the high school students enjoyed the refreshments and a great evening of fun.
