Good morning. As you likely have heard, local meteorologists are forecasting that Northeast Ohio will be getting hit by a major snow and ice storm beginning Wednesday evening.
Because of this, students and staff will not report to school on Thursday, February 3. Instead, Thursday will be an Asynchronous Learning Day for all students.
Students will not need to login to virtual classes or Zoom meetings. However, what it does mean is that students will have an assignment to complete in each of their classes. The assignments will be posted in both ProgressBook and Google Classroom. The work will be up and available by early Wednesday evening.
Assignments will then be due at the end of the respective class period. For example: If your student has Algebra fourth period, the assignment is due at the end of what would be fourth period.
Students learned of tomorrow’s Asynchronous Learning Day during today’s morning announcements. They have been told to take home any necessary textbooks, notebooks, supplies, etc. so they can complete the work to the best of their abilities, and on-time.
The Wrestling Match scheduled for Thursday night has been postponed. Wrestling Senior Night festivities will be moved to Thursday, February 17, when the team takes on Padua Franciscan at home.
If the weather does not improve for Friday and we have to close school, it will be an official snow day. No asynchronous learning will be scheduled. However, please check your email/the Holy Name website/social media for confirmation of this; as of this moment, we are only planning one day at a time. Stay tuned for further details about Friday, February 4.
Freshman students: If we are in school on Friday, you will meet 1:1 with your guidance counselor that day to submit your 2022-2023 course requests. If school is canceled, those meetings will then happen on Monday, February 7.
Please stay safe and if you can, avoid traveling on the roads tomorrow.
