An endowment gift is a donation that is given with the intent to preserve the original value of the gift, and to grow it over time. The funds are held in perpetuity and invested, and the accumulated appreciation and income on the investment is used to fund an annual distribution. Through this dedicated stream of income, an endowment gift can ensure the stability of student scholarship(s), enhance programming, and create an enduring legacy that can influence succeeding generations and have an everlasting impact on Holy Name High School. In time the income generated by the gift will far exceed the original donation. As a result, endowed funds provide a perpetual, supplemental source of income which will enhance the ability of Holy Name to attract and keep the most qualified applicants while increasing socioeconomic diversity in the student body.
Holy Name's mission challenges us to educate young men and women to proclaim the good news of the Gospel, empowering them to lead Christ-live lives. With your gift to Holy Name's endowment fund, you will ensure that we continue to proclaim the good news of the Gospel by reaching more families desiring a Catholic education. A gift to the endowment fund allows the school to remain competitive and to always be a school in progress -- a school constantly enriching its offerings to our young men and women.
Endowed Scholarship funds are created by donors who want to establish continued financial support for our young men and women.
Donors may create a Named Endowed Fund with a gift or pledge of $25,000 or more over a five-year period. Often these funds are named after a family legacy, a friend, or an individual who has been directly impacted by being a part of the Holy Name community.
