Brian Bobula ’94 (Football and Track): As a senior, Bobula was HN’s Track Team MVP, qualifying for the regional meet and earning 1st Team All-District Honors in 1994. His 400 Meter Dash time stood as the school record for 28 years, not broken until 2022. Bobula also helped set Holy Name’s 4×400 Relay School Record. He won the Namer Award and was All-District as a running back for football, rushing for an average of 10 yards per carry his senior year.
Backed by Bobula’s lightning fast times in the 400 Meter Dash, the 1994 Green Wave Boys Track and Field Team won the North Coast League Track Team Title.
Dawn Bialosky Limpert ’00 (Soccer, Basketball and Softball): Bialosky shined in all three sports she played. On the soccer field, she was All-North Coast League 2nd Team as a senior. Her basketball prowess – she graduated with 820 total career points – earned her All-NCL recognition three years in a row (2nd team as a sophomore, 1st team as a junior and senior), while also being honored with an All-Northeast District 2nd Team selection and All-Ohio Honorable Mention status as a senior. Junior year she shined on the diamond, and was named both the Team MVP and NCL MVP. The Plain Dealer included her on their Best of the Best Seven County 1st Team. At the end of her junior season, Bialosky had a .606 batting percentage, with 36 runs scored, 40 RBIs, 8 home runs and a fielding percentage of .910 at shortstop.
Bialosky’s team successes were as numerous as her individual ones. She and her teammates dominated the NCL, winning titles in soccer (freshman year) and basketball (sophomore, junior, and senior year). Her Green Wave teams were the Division I Regional Runner-Ups in both soccer (freshman) and basketball (junior). Most impressively, Bialosky was a senior on the 2000 State Final Four Basketball Team, a group that achieved a perfect 20-0 regular season record as juniors. Under the tutelage of Hall of Fame Basketball Coach Judy Blair, Bialosky and her teammates amassed an overall 83-15 record at the varsity level.
Michael Grzeskowiak ’00 (Football): Grzeskowiak left his mark on the football field while playing for the Green Wave. A two-year starter who made 20 consecutive starts, he was 1st Team All-North Coast League as both a junior and senior, as well as 1st Team All-Cuyahoga County, 1st Team All-District, and Special Mention All-Ohio as a senior. His superb play earned him a spot at the Cuyahoga County East vs. West All Star Game. Prep Football Prospects of Ohio Magazine (nowohiopreps.rivals.com) ranked him the 28th Best Lineman in the state of Ohio in 1999.
The Namers, with Grzeskowiak’s help, beat Lakewood High School when the Rangers were ranked as a Top 10 Team in Ohio. Grzeskowiak never lost to Padua Franciscan during his time at Holy Name.
Thomas Harrington ’01 (Basketball): A two-year starting point guard, Harrington commanded the court well for the Namers. As a junior, he led the team in assists, and ended the season as both a Mr. Hustle Award Winner and as an OHSBCA Silver Certificate Scholar Athlete Award Winner. Senior year, it was game on for Harrington. A team captain, he led HN in scoring, assists, three-point shots, and minutes played. At the end of the season, Harrington was named the Team MVP. He also earned a spot on the All-North Coast League 1st Team and All-District 2nd Team, and was recognized as both an All-Ohio Honorable Mention and as a Greater Cleveland Basketball Coaches Association All-Star. Academics remained strong for Harrington throughout his senior year; he was an OHSBCA Gold Certificate Scholar Athlete Award Winner.
Kimberly Petro Knall ’02 (Softball): Petro stood out offensively for the Namers as both a junior and senior. Each year she was the team leader in RBIs and triples. As a junior, she led the way in doubles; hits; walks; stolen bases; and batting average, while taking the team crown for homeruns and most at bats as a senior. In 2001, she was the Team’s MVP for offense, and earned 2nd Team All-District recognition in both 2001 and 2002. A team captain as a senior, Petro ended her career in the Green and White as fastpitch softball’s 1999-2002 Career Team Leader in runs scored; RBIs; doubles; triples; homeruns; 50-Hit Club; stolen bases; at bats; and batting average.
Fastpitch Softball was initially considered a club sport at Holy Name. By the time Petro departed, the Namers had made a name for themselves at the local and state fastpitch softball events. During her junior campaign, Petro and her teammates were the co-champions of the North Coast League, while also winning a sectional and district title. They were one of the final teams in Division I to play for the state title in 2001. As a senior in 2002, Petro and the Namers were once again sectional and district champions, as well as becoming regional finalists. They finished the season as the fourth best team in The Plain Dealer’s coverage area.
Seamus Szucs ’08 (Wrestling): Few wrestlers experienced the same level of success as Szucs did while representing Holy Name on the mat. Not only was he a three-time North Coast League Conference Champion and All-NCL honoree, but the team captain was also a two-time Ohio High School Athletic Association state placer. Szucs finished 6th in his weight class in 2007, and 7th in 2008, making him one of only five Holy Name graduates to have placed at the state meet twice in their high school career. At the time of his graduation, he was only the second Green Wave wrestler in school history to win a NCL title three times, and just the 18th to do it in NCL history.
In 2007, Szucs helped guide Holy Name to its first – and only – North Coast League Wrestling Championship. That same year, the Green Wave won the Catholic Invitation Tournament (Small School Division), with three wrestlers ultimately qualifying for the state tournament. In 2008 – his senior year – Szucs was one of four Namers to travel to Columbus for the state tournament.
Bobula, Bialosky Limpert, Grzeskowiak, Harrington, Petro Knall, and Szucs now join 145 other men and women, plus three of our state championship teams, as Green Wave HOF honorees. We thank everyone who made this induction ceremony one to remember, including our event emcee, News 5 Cleveland Anchor Rob Powers ’84.
