Congratulations to senior Matthew Vrabel who was named the Knights of Columbus Young Person of the Year. Matthew has been accepted to The Ohio State University, Dayton, Cincinnati, Ohio U., and Kent, and received merit scholarships to all of these universities. He has decided to attend the University of Dayton! Matthew has been accepted into the School of Business Administration's accounting program, as well as the University Honors Program.
Matthew says that he chose the colleges to which he applied by exploring the opportunities they offered and ensuring that they had strong campus communities.
After college, Matthew plans to find a good-paying job and purchase a house and a car.
His favorite class at HN was AP Government with Mr. Clark “because it was interesting, interactive, and fun.” He also enjoyed Theology with Mr. Ontko, CCP English with Mrs. White, and Honors Pre-Calculus with Mr. Lanza.
Matthew urges underclassmen to “make the most of high school because it goes by fast.” In a nod to his own positive experiences on the field, he also encourages students to explore HN’s soccer program.
Congratulations to Matthew, and stay tuned for more senior profiles!
