Congratulations to senior Jesssica Klonowski, who will attend Baldwin Wallace University next fall. Jessica was accepted into BW’s honors program and earned multiple scholarships, including the President’s Scholarship, worth $21,000 per year, and the BW Alumni Scholarship, worth $2,000 per year.
Although she hasn’t decided on a field of study, she is considering a major in psychology and a minor in athletic coaching. Among her possible long-term goals is a career in psychotherapy or sports psychology and a coaching position for a high school track and field team.
Jessica’s credits own experiences running track for HN with inspiring her academic and professional pursuits, and her future track career at BW will certainly position her for success.
She chose BW not only for its proximity to home but also because of the amazing people she met during her college visits and overnight stay with the track team. She says, “I really loved the coaches and athletes, and I could picture myself at BW after being there just once!”
Jessica identifies Sports Psychology as her favorite class at HN. She also enjoyed Honors Pre-Calculus, Honors English II, and Music Theory. She explains, “I have a very wide range of interests, and those classes helped me choose the areas where I want to continue studying and working!”
Reflecting on her own experiences, Jessica urges underclassmen to appreciate their time at HN. She says, “Your high school years FLY by, and it is so important to take advantage of every moment you have there and get experience with all different kinds of people. Although there will be days when you don’t want to go to school, try to look for the positives and the little experiences and memories you can make within each day.” She also notes that participating in clubs and activities as soon as possible can make the transition from 8th grade to high school so much smoother.
Congratulations to Jessica, and stay tuned for more senior profiles!
