Congratulations to senior Grace Scoville who has committed to run cross country and track at St. Vincent College, where she received the Chancellor's Scholarship and will study pre-veterinary science.
Grace choose SVC because it offered the best opportunities for her to excel both academically and athletically. After college, she plans to attend vet school—possibly with a focus on large animals.
Her favorite class at HN was Honors Anatomy and Physiology with Mrs. McCafferty. She describes the course as “engaging and interactive” and says that it prompted her to consider science as a career option. She also enjoyed Mr. Clark’s AP Government class.
Grace encourages underclassmen to set themselves up for success as soon as possible. She says, “Being able to start off strong will help so much down the road, even if you don’t know what direction you want to take yet.”
She also notes that it’s important to value the entire high school experience. “Be grateful for the ups,” she says, “and learn from the downs.”
Congratulations to Grace, and stay tuned for more senior profiles.
