Congratulations to senior Albert Selby who will be attending Baldwin Wallace where he will major in computer science. At BW, Albert also hopes to minor in statistics and, perhaps, audio production and sound design.
Although Albert hasn’t settled on a specific career path, he does plan to work in the tech industry—possibly in the video game industry or at a software engineering firm.
His favorite class at HN was AP Government with Mr. Clark, but he credits AP Statistics with Mrs. Ehrbar and Honors Pre-Calc with Mr. Lanza as the most influential because they helped him to realize he enjoyed math more than he thought he did. In this way, they played a huge role in his decision to change his major to computer science.
Albert encourages underclassmen to “budget time for yourself while also challenging yourself in school.” He urges them to find the balance between a challenging course load and a fun and enriching high school experience. “You don’t want to be bored with the classes you are taking,” he says, “but you also don’t want to be stressed because you’re not doing anything you find fun.”
Congratulations to Albert, and stay tuned for more senior profiles!
