In his first year of teaching at HN, Mr. Robert Lubowicki earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University.
Besides teaching physical science, Mr. Lubowicki moderates HN’s STEAM Club and serves as assistant baseball coach.
Mr. Lubowicki says that he has always loved the field of science and has always wanted to delve more deeply into it and to give his students the same chance.
His desire to help others and to share his love of science led him to become a science teacher. He also credits his own middle and high school science teachers with inspiring him by highlighting the diverse aspects of the field.
He loves teaching various labs and seeing the students’ reactions and motivation to learn more by asking thoughtful questions and coming up with new ideas. One of his favorite labs is the acid and base lab where students use litmus paper to determine the pH levels of household compounds.
In addition to in-class labs, Mr. Lubowicki uses online science simulations and other aspects of technology, including computers and the ActivPanel, to bring science to life.
In his free time, Mr. Lubowicki enjoys playing baseball, hanging out with friends, building model airplanes, playing video games, and watching movies.
